@PMKeeling imagine if Britain was a real place though
Britain might not be, but Snitter is. And it's coming for all of us.
@PMKeeling @pikesley I live a couple of miles from Snitter and as I’m Welsh I immediately knew what Egloskerry means
Unfortunately Snitter council itself has been dormant for many years, and will continue to be so. Elections were scheduled for this year, but not a single candidate has come forward for it. I'm fascinated by the name, I wonder what the root of it is?
@PMKeeling Alas I think neither Penistone or Ramsbottom have elections this May.
@penguin42 @PMKeeling
Oddly I was born near Ramsbottom and never considered the strange name but when I lived near Twatt it consistently made me chuckle
@PMKeeling Doncaster has a lot to answer for
@PMKeeling
I grew up in Sprotbrough. It was named for a viking called Sprot. His settlement prospered where neighbouring Toecroft didn't.
Sprot is an excellent name for a viking.
@PMKeeling going to be busy here. We have a Loton.
