I bought some #vintage #sewing patterns because I'm a spastic asshole. I don't actually know shit about sewing from a pattern but I'm super extra and want POOF so my mother in law will help. It's not completely ridic - I have made a dress before, just not something so intense. Don't care, gonna try.
@violenteastcoastcity The skirt will be great fun! The bustier will take some time and lots of patience to fit to your figure, but so worth it to get done. If you wanted tips: I'd use a cheaper material to assemble the top, adjust it until it feels right and take those pattern pieces as your template for the expensive fabric. The final version will also need some tweaks (different fabrics behave differently) but you've done the main work and will hopefully not want to tear your hair out!
@Giselle Oh wow yes that's such a good idea. Thank you! Always happy for tips. I will have my mother in law helping me, which is why I feel confident enough to take on these patterns, but I'm also VERY open to thoughts from the internet!
