Proportion of seats contested by the major political parties:
93% - Conservative
77% - Labour
59% - Liberal Democrats
41% - Green
However, there are some important regional variations, as the table below shows. Labour are the largest party across Northern England, while the Liberal Democrats are in second place in the South West.
