I'd like to make a canopy for our outdoor folding trolley for #emfcamp mostly so the kids have somewhere a bit weatherproof during the festival. I'm thinking olde times oregon trail style round canopy, so could be made with some sort of flexible tubing, cable ties, and a tarpaulin. Does that make sense? Does anyone know what sort of tubing I could use for that?
(not buying one off amazon or wherever because they're all coming from china and won't get here in time and also boo amazon)
hmm looks like speedifit plumbing tubes could work! Nice to see I'm not the first person to try this! https://www.instructables.com/Kids-Covered-Wagon/
@CatherineFlick get some hula hoops off a classified listing? Ask in a local free cycle if anyone has broken ones even - then you're recycling :) or find ones in your closet that nobody has used in decades (maybe your parent friends have busted / no longer userd ones?)
@discontinuity thanks! I’ve ordered some blue water piping so I think I’m good for now. (I don’t have any hula hoops and my kids aren’t quite at the age for hula hooping yet!)
@CatherineFlick we've done this using the spring steel out of a popup tent. Works well and packs up small but isn't super rigid in the face of sidewinds or wriggling kids!
