Q&A from a talk I gave last week.
Q: "What do you think is the biggest threat in cybersecurity right now? Is it post-quantum computing? Is it AI?"
A: Fascism. It's fascism.

Today, noyb has sent a cease and desist letter to Meta regarding its AI training plans in Europe.
If Meta doesn't comply with the request, noyb could file an injunction – or launch an EU class action in the future.

Cool. So now that AI is going to replace all the people who do the work, and those people all worked so they could afford the products that companies produced, we're moving to a post-money society, right? ..right?
Because the (il)logical end of this path is that we all have no money or food, but a lot of "spare" time to sharpen old pitchforks and a burning desire to eat the rich.
Men in France emit significantly more CO2e than women, and a major factor is said to be 'red meat and cars'.
Every €1 the EU invests in research can yield up to €11 in growth by 2045.
With €43 billion from Horizon Europe since 2023, we’ve backed 15,000+ projects, from antibiotics to the transition.
This year, we’ll put in over €7.3 billion to meet Europe’s challenges.
We now want to enshrine scientific freedom in EU law, create a 7-year ‘super grant’ to attract top researchers and expand support for the most promising scientists.
Research benefits all. Let’s double down.
Scottish Greens MSP Maggie Chapman on Starmer's migration speech:
“It is a cynical, cruel & authoritarian response to Reform. It will only serve to damage public services while throwing migrant workers under the bus with racist, restrictive & totally self-defeating policies....
Real people’s lives should not be used as political props in a contest between Labour, the Tories & Reform to see who can be the most hostile'
Exactly!

Yes, It Is Just Like The Nazis
Hey so remember Anne Frank? The Jewish young girl who hid in an attic and was killed by the Nazis? The emblematic person we think of when we think of victims of the Holocaust?
She did not die in a gas chamber or in a death camp. She died in a temporary' detention center for the mass deportations which preceded the death camps.
She was in that camp because a patriotic neighbor ratted her out to the German deportation force. She died, not of a bullet to the back of the head or choking on gas, but of typhus. She contracted typhus because the Nazis couldn't realistically deport people at the rate they wanted to, because before the death camps their infrastructure couldn't handle the sudden influx of ethnic minorities they had decided to imprison, and because they didn't care about the consequences of that so their deportation detention centers were unhygienic and prisoners were underfed and overcrowded.
And she was picked up by the deportation force not because she was an illegal citizen but because, just like the US is doing with asylum seekers, she was part of a formerly recognized class of citizens who were legally redefined to lack citizenship by a new administration.
Anne Frank is exactly like the children who have already died in the United State's detention camps. Exactly. Down to the very last detail. There. Is. Not. A.
Single. Difference.
So unless you want to fucking tell me that Anne goddamn Frank was not a victim of the Holocaust, y'all can shut the fuck up with that "stop making concentration camp comparisons, you're diminishing the suffering of the Holocaust" bullshit.
Its also worth noting that her family TRIED to flee to the US and was denied. She was in that camp partly because the US refused to let her refugee family immigrate.
This is my friend Lucy who is currently missing in Wellington Pōneke. She is vulnerable, low on resources, and may be experiencing paranoia and disordered thinking so if you see her please be gentle and straightforward. Her mother is now nearby and can come to wherever.
she currently has blonde hair not pink.
If you find her stay close and message me to pass on to her mum ASAP or the local crisis team on 0800 745 477
Boosts welcome.
There is no sadness and disappointment in the world that can compare to that of a dog, who has loved you and trusted you with all of its heart, yet for some horrible reason has not been rewarded with every single item of food in your home.
New Caledonia has just imposed a 50-year ban on deep-sea mining across its entire maritime zone. The law blocks commercial exploration, prospecting and mining of mineral resources within New Caledonia's exclusive economic zone.

Kind of amazing that the best Star Wars since the original trilogy, and the best mainstream antifascist media in years, is a prequel to a prequel to a movie from 1977.
